Gripping read, great read.
Historical fiction is one of my favourite genres, however I was unsure of how I would feel about the "fantasy element". All I can say is I thoroughly enjoyed it. Ailia such a strong female, knows she was meant for more than to be a kitchen hand. Skin takes the reader on a Ailia's journey of self discovery and how important it is to know where your roots are. I was saddened by the ending, but in the twist of fate which was to become her destiny there was no other way to draw her story to a close.
